JJ Abrams Confirms Finn’s Secret in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Spoilers)

WARNING: SPOILERS follow for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

With Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker finally out in theaters, fans who saw the film will recall a subplot where Finn (John Boyega) had a secret he wanted to tell Rey (Daisy Ridley). The subplot and Finn’s secret are referenced throughout the film. Finn never actually gets around to telling Rey what he wanted to say. However, there are hints later in the story that suggest Finn might actually be Force sensitive, or so the theory goes.

It looks like director and co-writer JJ Abrams actually confirmed that theory and revealed this was the secret Finn was guarding during an Academy screening for the film, where Abrams was in attendance and took part in a Q&A panel. According to a recap by Twitter user Kaila Ren, Abrams confirmed the theory while talking to the fans later on and not during the actual Q&A session.
