Kevin Feige Teases New Top-Secret Marvel Project With Scarlett Johansson

Kevin Feige has teased a new Marvel project with Scarlett Johansson that will be unrelated to her role as Black Widow in the MCU. Deadline reports that the Marvel Studios president was in attendance for Johnasson’s reception of the American Cinematheque Award on Thursday night when he made mention of the “top secret Marvel Studios project” that he’s teaming with Johansson for.

Feige noted that the project has nothing to do with the Black Widow character and that Johansson will serve as a producer on the upcoming project.

“Scarlett has lent her talent and star power to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for over a decade. That she’s chosen to play a key part in it for so many years, I am extremely grateful for,” Feige said. “Working with [her] has truly been one of the most memorable and rewarding collaborations of my career.”

Johansson’s last appearance as Black Widow was in the character’s solo film, which took place before the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Black Widow was a success for Marvel and Disney, though it touched off a legal battle between Johnasson and the studio over the film’s release on Disney+ alongside its theatrical bow. Johansson filed a breach of contract lawsuit and had a very public verbal war with Disney, which was ultimately settled for what Deadline reports was over $40 million.
