Lionsgate Pushes Hellboy Back to April

Lionsgate has delayed the release of Hellboy to the early start of summer season. The company announced on Friday that the new film, which stars David Harbour as the titular hero, will release on April 12th, 2019 instead of its original January 11, 2019 date. The move takes the film out of the traditional dead zone that is January and moves it to open opposite Robert Downey Jr.’s The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle.

Harbour is joined in the film by Ian McShane who will play Hellboy’s adoptive father, Professor Trevor Bruttenholm (aka Professor Broom), Milla Jovovich as villain Nimue aka the Blood Queen, Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan, Penelope Mitchell as the elder witch Ganeida, and Daniel Dae Kim as Major Ben Daimio.
