Mark Hamill ‘Hopes’ Rise of Skywalker is His Last Star Wars Film
Mark Hamill has enjoyed his time as Luke Skywalker, but he will be happy if Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker is his last go-around. Hamill spoke with the AP about his return in the upcoming JJ Abrams-directed film at the Child’s Play premiere and was asked if this was his last film in the franchise.
“I sure hope so,” the actor laughed. “You know, I mean I had closure in the last one. The fact that I’m involved in any capacity is only because of that peculiar aspect of the Star Wars mythology where if you’re a Jedi, you get to come back and make a curtain call as a Force ghost.”
Hamill is set to play the role of Luke, who passed away in The Last Jedi, in the upcoming film and although the extent of his role is as-yet unknown, it sounds like he’s coming back the way we all expect him to. The film opens on December 20th.
