Prince Adam Becomes He-Man To Save Eternia in Masters of the Universe, Official Trailer Released

At long last, a trailer has finally been released for the long-awaited live-action Masters of the Universe movie. In the new Amazon MGM Studios release, Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) seeks to return to Eternia to save his homeland from Skeletor (Jared Leto). The newly released trailer can be viewed below.

The trailer sets up the premise for the live-action reboot. A young Prince Adam is sent away to Earth by his mother, Queen Marlena (Charlotte Riley), to keep him safe. 15 years later, the Eternian Prince Adam has been separated from his sword, keeping him from returning home.

However, after he eventually rediscovers the Power Sword, Prince Adam must now return to his home, which has been shattered under Skeletor’s rule. To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-at-Arms (Idris Elba) and embrace his destiny by becoming He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe.

Based on the classic 1980s Mattel toy brand, the new trailer offers us our first glimpses at Eternia, Castle Grayskull, Skeletor, Snake Mountain, and various characters from the iconic toy line, including Fisto, Battle-Cat/Cringer, Spikor, Trap-Jaw, Evil-Lyn, Zoar, and Roboto. Of course, we also get to see Adam’s transformation into He-Man, where he reveals fabulous, secret powers when he holds aloft his magic sword and says, “I have the power!”

Masters of the Universe Arrives in Theaters Later This June

Other cast members include Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, James Purefoy as King Randor, Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcolm/Fisto, and Kristen Wiig as the voice of Roboto. Masters of the Universe arrives in theaters on June 5.

The upcoming feature is directed by Travis Knight from a script by Chris Butler, Aaron Nee & Adam Nee, and Dave Callaham. The story was crafted by the Nees, Alex Litvak, and Michael Finch.
