Masters of the Universe Tease Reveals First Footage, Official Trailer Dropping Tomorrow

2026 will see the release of a new live-action Masters of the Universe movie. However, outside of an early behind-the-scenes featurette that was shown to attendees at CinemaCon last year, no actual footage of the film has been made available until now. Amazon MGM Studios have finally revealed a new trailer teaser for the upcoming feature, showcasing the first official footage of the new movie (see below).

The new trailer teaser offers moviegoers our first glimpses of the cast, including Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam, Camila Mendes as Teela, and Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms. There are also brief glimpses of Adam donning the Power Sword, Eternia, Castle Grayskull, Roboto, and Cringer/Battle-Cat. The official trailer for Masters of the Universe debuts tomorrow (Jan. 22).

In the new adaptation, Prince Adam has been separated from Eterenia for 15 years. However, he must now return to save his family and his world, and join forces with his closest allies, Teela and Man-at-Arms, to embrace his destiny as He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe.

The upcoming feature also stars Jared Leto as Skeletor, James Purefoy as King Randor, Charlotte Riley as the voice of Queen Marlena, Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcolm/Fisto, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, and Kristen Wiig as the voice of Roboto. Travis Knight is directing the film from a script by Knight and Chris Butler. Based on the famous cartoon and toy line, the new movie is set to release in theaters on June 5, 2026.
