Matt Reeves Confirms That The Batman II Will Film This Year

The Batman II will still shoot this year despite being pushed back, according to Matt Reeves. As reported late last month, Warner Bros. Pictures bumped the sequel to Reeves’ Batman movie back a year to October 1st, 2027. Reeves was asked about the film at the Golden Globes on Sunday and while he couldn’t reveal much he did confirm it will shoot this year.

“I can tell you that we’ll be shooting this year,” Reeves said (per Deadline). “We’re doing something where the story continues from, but I hope that people will be surprised by.”

The Batman was a massive hit in March of 2022, grossing $772.3 million worldwide. The Max spinoff series The Penguin earned Colin Farrell a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Miniseries, Anthology, or Television Film.
