Nathon Fillion is bringing his aim to misbehave to the DC Extended Universe for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. Deadline reports that Fillion has signed on for a role in Gunn’s sequel to the 2016 film in an as-yet-undisclosed role. He joins a cast that includes Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman, as well as Suicide Squad newcomers Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior and (if the rumors are right) John Cena.

Fillion is best known for his role in ABC’s Castle and the Joss Whedon sci-fi western Firefly and Serenity, but he also has a history of working with Gunn. He appeared in Slither and Super for Gunn, and voiced an inmate in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Suicide Squad is set to release in theaters on August 6, 2021.
