The worlds of Kong: Skull Island and Tomb Raider are set to expand at Netflix with anime series for both in the works. Deadline reports that Netflix is teaming with Legendary Television for Skull Island and Tomb Raider, anime series intended to build upon the worlds of both franchises.

According to the site, Skull Island will be “a new chapter” in Legendary’s Monsterverse and like Skull Island will follow a group of shipwrecked characters that are trying to escape from Skull Island, which is the home to several prehistoric monsters as seen in the 2017 Jordan Vogt-Roberts film. Meanwhile, Tomb Raider will specifically spin off from the video game franchise reboot and take place after the most recent game, with Lara Croft exploring new territory.

Both the Monsterverse and Tomb Raider have new films on the way, with Godzilla vs. Kong arriving on March 31st on HBO Max and in theaters, while Tomb Raider 2 is to be written and directed by Lovecraft Country showrunner Misha Green.
