New Featurette For Venom Features Behind-the-Scenes Footage

IGN has released a brand new behind-the-scenes featurette for Sony Pictures’ Venom, which will be released on October 5. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner. It stars Tom Hardy, Riz Ahmed, Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson, Jenny Slate and Scott Haze. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach will produce with Amy Pascal, while Palak Patel will executive produce for Columbia Pictures.

VFX supervisor Paul Franklin said: “Tom voices the character at all times, and that vocal performance is so rich and so characterful that we have plenty to start working with straightaway. So we’re capturing Tom’s physical performance, and that, in turn, is also informing what’s going on with the digital character.”

Production designer Oliver Scholl added: “[Tom is] trying out different versions of what he could be saying, thinking, how the interaction would be. Interaction is the wrong word, because he’s interacting with himself. [It’s] Tom finding Venom, or trying to find him inside him, like, bringing him out and playing this schizophrenic personality, and I think it’s a very different tone.“
