The King of the Monsters returns to the screen later this year. TOHO and GKIDS have revealed the official trailer for the upcoming sequel, Godzilla Minus Zero. You can check out the newly revealed trailer below.

Set two years after the conclusion of the last movie, Japan faces agonizing struggles to recover in the wake of Godzilla’s previous attack, as the survivors seek to reclaim their daily lives. However, just as humanity clings to a hard-won peace, a new threat strikes, crushing hope in an instant.

Per the synopsis, “There is no third time. Everything ends here.” As noted, an earlier teaser trailer teased Godzilla arriving in New York, standing next to the Statue of Liberty.

It appears the new trailer could also be teasing a new kaiju threat unique from Godzilla. There’s a glimpse of a roar that sounds different from Godzilla. Also, a clip shows Godzilla falling to the Earth, while a character is heard saying, “Don’t worry, this isn’t Godzilla we are talking about.”

Elsewhere, Noriko Shikishima (Minami Hamabe) hints to Koichi (Ryunosuke Kamiki) that her time might be running out. It appears her encounter with Godzilla from the previous movie might have left her mortally ill.

Godzilla Minus Zero marks the first-ever Japanese Production filmed for IMAX. It will be released across North America starting Friday, November 6.
