Patty Jenkins Reveals Pedro Pascal’s Wonder Woman 1984 Role
It’s pretty much official: we now know who Pedro Pascal is playing in Wonder Woman 1984. Patty Jenkins posted to Twitter on Friday to confirm that Maxwell Lord will be making an appearance in the film, the role that the Game of Thrones star fits to a T as we’ve seen him so far.
While obviously the below tweet is not an explicit confirmation as in saying “Pedro Pascal is Maxwell Lord,” it basically confirms what has been reported for a while now. Maxwell Lord is a major part of the DC Universe and is specifically a big part of Wonder Woman’s history. A wealthy and powerful industrialist, Lord sought to bring superheroes under his control. He eventually gets superpowers of his own and wreaks havoc during the Infinite Crisis event, running afoul of Wonder Woman in a big way.
Wonder Woman 1984 is written by Jenkins, Geoff Johns, and David Callaham and directed by Jenkins. Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pascal, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielsen star in the film, which releases on June 5th, 2020.
