Rosario Dawson Says The Punisher Is ‘Happening Again’

It sounds as if The Punisher may follow Daredevil in a return to live-action, with Rosario Dawson dropping the news over the weekend. Dawson was at C2E2 this weekend and during a panel, she mentioned that she just heard the character is making his way back to the screen.

“I found out yesterday that The Punisher was happening again,” she said. “So I feel like it’s my second chance! Because it was the only one of the [Netflix Marvel] shows that I wasn’t in. And I love Jon Bernthal. So let’s all make it happen collectively, guys!”

Dawsom played Clair Temple on several of the Marvel Netflix shows including Daredevil and Luke Cage. It’s worth noting that Marvel has not said anything about a new series of film happening with the character; however, they did confirm at San Diego Comic-Con that a new season of Daredevil, subtitled “Born Again,” is on the way with Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio returning.

Bernthal starred in The Punisher as the titular character for two seasons and quickly became a fan-favorite series.
