Salem’s Lot is finally seeing the light of day, with a release date set on Max. The streaming service announced on Friday that the new adaptation of the Stephen King vampire novel will arrive in October, following months of limbo about the film’s status.

The film is directed by Gary Dauberman from a script he wrote based on the 1975 King novel. Dauberman also executive produced the film, which was has had a rocky road to release. Originally set to release in April of 2022, it was bumped due to post-production delays caused by the pandemic to April 21st, 2023. It then lost that release date to Evil Dead Rise and was undated.

The horror film stars Lewis Pullman, Alfre Woodard, Makenzie Leigh, Bill Camp, Spencer Treat Clark, Pilou Asbæk, and John Benjamin Hickey and is described as follows:

Author Ben Mears returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book only to discover his hometown is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire.
