SDCC: Marvel Announces Phase 4 Slate: Eternals, Doctor Strange 2, Thor 4, More
Marvel Studios finally returned to Hall H at the San Diego Comic-Con today and as many expected, they revealed their Phase 4 slate of films and TV Shows. The shows, of course, will be on Disney+ and have already been announced. One big announcement was the full cast for Eternals, which includes names like Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie, as well as release date of November 6. It didn’t stop there, as there were titles revealed for the next movie featuring the Sorcerer Supreme (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) and the God of Thunder (Thor: Love and Thunder), as well as official announcements of the Black Widow and Shang-Chi movies.
May 1, 2020: Black Widow, directed by Cate Shortland. In addition to Scarlett Johansson, it also stars David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle, and Rachel Weisz.
November 6, 2020: Eternals, directed by Chloe Zhao. It stars Richard Madden (Game of Thrones) as Icarus, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Ikari, Bryan Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Salma Hayek as Ajak and Angelina Jolie as Thena.
Fall 2020: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier for Disney+. It was revealed that Daniel Bruhl will reprise his role from Captain America: Civil War of Helmut Zemo in the series.
February 12, 2021: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. It will star Simi Liu as Shang-Chi, Awkwafina and Tony Leung as the real Mandarin.
Spring 2021: Wandavision for Disney+.
Spring 2021: Loki for Disney+.
May 7, 2021: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Scott Derrickson will return to direct. It will also feature Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch
Summer 2021: What If?, for Disney+. Will feature Jeffrey Wright as the voice of the Watcher. Alternate takes on stories from the MCU, with many actors reprising their roles in animated form.
Fall 2021: Hawkeye, for Disney+.
November 5, 2021: Thor: Love and Thunder, directed by Taika Waititi. Natalie Portman will officially return to the franchise with this film. It also features Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie again.
