Smallville alum Allison Mack has been arrested over her alleged involvement as a high-ranking member of a sex cult. TMZ reports that Mack, who played Chloe Sullivan on the former CW series, was arrested by the FBI and appeared in federal court in Brooklyn on Friday on charges of sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy and conspiracy to commit forced labor charges.

According to the indictment, Mack recruited young women to join an organization called “DOS” or “Vow” in the guise of a women’s empowerment group. She then allegedly forced the women into sex slavery and trook compromising photos, along with recorded confessions of past crimes, in order to extort them into staying in the group for life. The women were allegedly forced to have sex with cult leader Keith Raniere and remain celibate otherwise, and had to be ready to respond to the leaders at any time, day or night.

The indictment alleges that the women were deprived of sleep and starved, to the point that they stopped menstruating. They were also braned with a symbol that featured Raniere and Mack’s initials.

Mack’s bail hearing is set for Monday, and prosecutors believe her to be a flight risk with ties to Mexico. Mack entered a not guilty plea and was detained.
