Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a mega-hit, but its intro left some fans straining to hear the dialogue and Sony has fixed the issue. As Variety reports, the animated Spidey sequel had received complaints about the audio mix in the opening sequence focusing on Gwen Stacy, with the music overwhelming the dialogue.

The site notes that all the prints for the film have now been updated to eliminate the problems, with sources adding that that sending edited prints is not an uncommon practice “if the opportunity presents itself.”

Writer-producer Phil Lord had noted on Twitter during opening weekend that the audio team mixed the film at a volume of seven, adding:

““#SpiderVerse friends! If you get to the theater early and you want a fun mission ask someone to check that the theater volume is set at reference (7)! If it sounds a bit quiet, invite them to turn it up a touch to 7.5! If they give you flack… tell them we said it was okay.”

Audio issues or not, the well-reviewed sequel is making money at the box office with $225.4 million domestically and $389.9 million worldwide thus far.
