SyFy Orders Series Deadly Class From Joe and Anthony Russo

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Syfy has given a series order to an adaptation of Image Comics’ graphic novel Deadly Class, executive produced by Joe and Anthony Russo. An episode count and premiere date have not been announced. Sony Pictures Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions will produce. Rick Remender, who co-created the comic with Wes Craig, will write the script with Miles Orion Feldsott and will executive produce with Mike Larocca, Adam Targum and director Lee Toland Krieger. It stars Benedict Wong, Benjamin Wadsworth, Lana Condor, Maria Gabriella de Faria, Luke Tennie, Liam James and Michel Duval.

Here’s a synopsis: Set in a dark, comic book world against the backdrop of late ’80s counter culture, Deadly Class follows a homeless teen recruited into a storied elite private school where the world’s top crime families send their next generations. Maintaining his moral code while surviving a ruthless curriculum, vicious social cliques and his own adolescent uncertainties soon proves to be vital. The drama is described as a coming of age journey full of ancient mystery and teen angst.
