Taika Waititi’s Star Wars Movie Aiming For 2023 Release

The next Star Wars film will come from Taika Waititi and is looking to release next year. Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy confirmed during a recent interview with Total Film that Taititi’s movie will be the next movie, noting that the film is aiming for “late 2023.”

Kennedy noted that the date is not locked in as of yet and added that they’re looking to move beyond the Skywalker Sage, saying:

“We need to create a whole new saga. That takes a lot. There’s a lot of conversation around that. “

No details have been revealed for Waititi’s film as of now. The Thor: Love & Thunder director previously directed an episode of The Mandalorian and voiced IG-11 in the series.
