The long-gestating reboot of The Crow is finally set to begin production this summer. Deadline reports that the film, which will star Bil Skarsgard and is being directed by Rupert Sanders, will head to the Cannes markets via FilmNation Entertainment and will then film this summer in the Czech Republic and Germany.

The film, which has been through many iterations, was announced to be led by Skarsgard last month. The reboot of the 1994 film will be written by Zach Baylin (King Richard) and stars Skarsgard as Eric Draven and FKA Twiggs as his love interest, who will reportedly have a bigger role in the new film.

Much like the Brandon Crow-starring film, this The Crow will be adapted from James O’Barr’s 1989 comic book series and centers on a man brought back to life to avenge his murder and the death of his fiancée.
