The Fantastic Four: First Steps Trailer Reveals the Silver Surfer, Showcases Retro-Futuristic Style

Marvel Studios revealed the official trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps today, presenting the first look at the new Silver Surfer, Shalla-Bal, portrayed by Julia Garner. You can check out the newly revealed trailer below.

The new trailer also showcases Marvel’s First Family, the robot H.E.R.B.I.E., and the retro-futuristic, 1960s vibe. In the new Marvel Studios-produced reboot, the family of heroes, Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) must face their most daunting challenge yet. They have to defend the earth from a ravenous space god called Galactuc (Ralph Ineson), and his enigmatic Herald, the Silver Surfer (Garner).

As if Galactus’ plan to devour the earth wasn’t bad enough, things soon get very persona. The action adventure also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. It’s directed by Matt Shakman, produced by Kevin Feige and executive produced by Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis, and Tim Lewis.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters on July 25.
