The Rock Says He Wants To Be James Bond, Talks Possible Black Adam vs. Superman Fight

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson says that he would be interested in taking on the role of James Bond, should he ever get the chance. Johnson spoke with Esquire for a new interview for their “Explain This” video series, promoting his new Netflix film Red Notice. You can check out some highlights below:

On a Black Adam vs. Superman fight: “Black Adam fighting Superman. I would love for that to happen. I’ve always been a big proponent of that, especially considering Black Adam can kick the s**t out of Superman’s. I think fans can anticipate it. I will continue to do the most that we can to try and make that happen.

“I think — you know, what’s interesting about Black Adam is he has the speed of Superman, he flies like Superman, He has the powers of Superman. You know, Superman, his greatest weakness, a lot of people think it’s Kryptonite. Kryptonite is very powerful, but Superman’s greatest weakness is actually magic. And Black Adam is blessed with magic. And all superheroes, they have a code of ethics that they live by. Superman won’t kill anyone, but in Black Adam’s world If you harm his people or his family or him, you die. ”

On if he works out with Kevin Hart: “Kevin and I have never worked out together. Look, I would love to work out with Kevin, that would be a great workout. But the truth is, working out with me would not be good for Kevin’s ego. We’ve just got to call a spade a spade. Not gonna happen. I mean, it’s bad enough when we get together and people think he’s my little son, who I ignore.”

On wanting to play James Bond: “Yes, my grandfather was a Bond villain in You Only Live Twice with Sean Connery. Very, very cool. I would like to follow in his footsteps and be the next Bond. I don’t want to be a villain. Gotta be Bond.”
