The Strangers: Chapter 2 Teaser Previews Next Leg of Remake Trilogy

The next chapter of The Strangers is coming soon with The Strangers: Chapter 2, and the first teaser builds up a sense of paranoia for our protagonist. Lionsgate has released the teaser trailer for the film, which you can check out below.

Where the first film was largely a direct remake of the original film, Chapter 2 looks to be moving past that story as Maya (Madelaine Petsch) tries to escape the rural town of the first film and finds it won’t be so easy. The teaser builds up the sense of unease as it asks “Who can you trust when everyone is a stranger?” and suggests the potential identities of the masked individuals that attacked her and her boyfriend in the first film.

Renny Harlin is again directing for Chapter 2 from a script by Alan R. Cohen & Alan Freedland. The new film stars Petsch, Gabriel Basso, Ema Horvath and is simply described as “the chilling next chapter of The Strangers franchise.” No release date has yet been revealed.
