Walton Goggins To Star In LA Confidential Reboot Pilot
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Walton Goggins is set to star in CBS’ TV reboot pilot of L.A. Confidential, based on the novel by James Ellroy. Anna Fricke will be the co-showrunner and executive producer.
It’s said to be a “2018 treatment” in its tone, music and style, even though it’s set in 1950s Los Angeles. It follows three homicide detectives, a female reporter and a young actress whose lives intertwine while the detectives hunt for a serial killer. Goggins will play Detective Jack Vincennes, who is described as “all swagger and flash with a movie-star smile. He knows how the system works and uses it to his best advantage, including some corrupt shakedowns on the side.” The role was played by Kevin Spacey in the 1997 film. Jordan Harper wrote the script and will executive produce with Arnon Milchan. Michael Dinner will direct the pilot and executive produce. The pilot is produced by New Regency, Lionsgate Television and CBS Television Studios.
