Illumination and Universal Pictures revealed a new TV spot for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie during the Super Bowl last night, and the spot features some brand-new footage and clips of Mario, Yoshi, Princess Peach, Bowser Jr., and more. You can check out the newly revealed Super Bowl spot below.

The TV spot is also packed with fun Easter eggs and cameos from across the Nintendo pantheon that fans will likely enjoy. Unfortunately, there’s still no clarity on who is voicing Yoshi in the new movie.

The upcoming sequel stars returning cast members Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, and Keegan-Michael Key as Toad. New cast members include Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr. and Oscar-winning actor Brie Larson as Princess Rosalina.

Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, who directed the first movie, are back to direct the sequel from a screenplay by returning writer Matthew Fogel. Brian Tyler is also back to compose the score. It’s produced by Chris Meledandri of Illumination and Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will be co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo, and released worldwide by Universal Pictures in theaters on April 1, 2026. The first movie grossed more than $1.3 billion worldwide.
