AEW Worlds End on December 27 was AEW’s most purchased PPV since All In, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. That means the show topped 140,000 buys.
Dave Meltzer notes that a key factor behind the increase was the discounted pricing through HBO Max, which lowered the barrier to entry for many wrestling fans. However, U.S. numbers for traditional cable and satellite pay-per-view purchases have declined.
AEW’s Worlds End card itself featured several title matches and long-running storylines reaching conclusions. The main event saw MJF defeat Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and “Hangman” Adam Page by pinfall to become the new AEW World Champion. The outcome immediately reshaped the title landscape and set new directions for the company’s top prize.
Elsewhere on the card, notable performances from wrestlers like Jon Moxley, Toni Storm, and Kazuchika Okada helped maintain momentum throughout the night.
