AJ Styles says that when he opens his training gym in Georgia, he wants to do it similarly to how Nattie Neidhart & TJ Wilson’s The Dungeon is run. Styles has spoken about wanting to open his own training gym and has visited The Dungeon 2.0 in Florida a number of times. In his current role in WWE, Styles is working with talent at NXT and EVOLVE, plus working as a talent scout.

Styles spoke about his latest trip to the Dungeon on the latest episode of his Phenomenally Retro podcast. He spoke highly of the experience and said that it is the kind of direction he wants to go when he opens his own gym. He also gave an update on the status of said gym; you can see the highlights below:

On Visiting The Dungeon:

“I went and checked out one school [over the past week], then was able to go to Nattie and TJ’s school, The Dungeon. And it was such a pleasure going and seeing how they operate. I think that is the way to go when I finally open up my place. Invite only, so that we can work together and everybody can get better together. I can see who’s ready, who isn’t, little things like that. It was so well done and so professional.”

On Working With Nattie There:

“TJ wasn’t there, he’s over in Italy of course for Clash in Italy. So, it was just Nattie over there, and man she’s such a sweetheart now, and always has been. But man, it was fun.”

On Planning To Do His Own Training Gym In Georgia:

“That’s it. “And you know, I’m looking — and I would love to tell you how easy it is to find a building close to where I’m at. And it’s just not. As I went to look, because I was going to build one. And now that’s taken a lot more time than I thought it was. So, I feel like people are letting me down and trying to get that done, because you know. Anyway, trying to find a building that’s perfect, like there’s no wasted space, is almost impossible.

“So that’s kind of where I’m at, and it’s frustrating and it’s — you know. Because I want to be able to say, ‘Hey, come here. Let’s go do this.’ There’s a lot of guys around Georgia that need that extra help and stuff like that. And there’s — you know, some people who are willing to make that day travel to come down and go, ‘Let’s spend some time together. Let’s all of us get better.’
