All Japan Pro Wrestling Set to Hold Memorial Service for Joe Doering Later This Month

In a latest update, All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) is set to hold a memorial service and floral tribute for Joe Doering later this month.

As noted previously, Joe Doering succumbed to his third brain tumor on June 26 at the age of 44. Tributes have since been pouring in from the wrestling world for the former two-time AJPW Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion.

Earlier today, AJPW issued a statement on its website, informing fans that the company would hold a memorial service and set up a flower offering stand for Joe Doering at its Summer Action Series event at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan, on Sunday, July 19.

The company will reveal the start time of the memorial service and the location of the flower offering stand in due course.

Here’s what AJPW wrote on its website:

“All Japan Pro Wrestling will hold a memorial service and set up a flower offering stand for Joe Doering at the “Summer Action Series 2026″ event at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on Sunday, July 19th, in remembrance of the passing of Joe Doering, who died on June 26th. We will inform you of the start time of the memorial service and the location of the flower offering stand as soon as they are decided.”

Doering, who hailed from Chicago, Illinois, and kicked off his pro wrestling career in December 2004. He was known for his time in All Japan Pro Wrestling, where he made his debut in 2007 and then returned for a nine-year stint following a brief exit in 2010.

In February 2010, he signed a developmental contract with WWE. However, he was released later that year, following which he returned to AJPW. Doering also spent several years in TNA Wrestling, where he was crowned the iMPACT World Tag Team Champion twice. TNA honored him with a 10-ball salute at this weekend’s Slammiversary event.

His last-ever match took place at an indie event in August 2022.
