Backstage Update on Jacob Fatu’s Absence on Last Night’s WWE Raw

The Bloodline’s Jacob Fatu was visibly absent from last night’s edition of WWE Raw. Dave Meltzer provided insight regarding why that was the case on today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio (via F4WOnline.com).

According to Meltzer, Fatu was absent as he was filming a WWE show with Joe Hendry and Drew McIntyre. He explained, “The Jacob thing, I believe Jacob and Joe Hendry and Drew McIntyre are doing some WWE show, filming of the show. So that explains why Jacob is out, that angle with Jacob.”

That likely explains last week’s WWE Raw angle, where Jaida Parker ran over Jacob Fatu with a car. It was a way to temporarily write Fatu off the show for his filming commitments.

Hendry did make an appearance during WWE Raw, performing the song “JD McDonagh is a Funko Pop.” Additionally, former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre was recently spotted at WWE HQ in Stamford.

As previously reported, WWE partnered with ReelShort to produce a new original live-action microdrama featuring WWE Superstars, including Fatu, McIntyre, and Hendry. The project is expected to make a fall debut.

In late August, PWInsider reported that filming wrapped on the ReelShort microdrama project. WWE has not yet announced when it will debut.
