Becky Lynch Defeats AJ Lee to Regain Women’s Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 42 Saturday

Becky Lynch finally overcomes the AJ Lee hoodoo. The Man defeated Lee at WrestleMania 42 Saturday to enter her third reign as the Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

Early into the match, Becky exposed one of the turnbuckles, but referee Jessica Carr was alert and put them right back in, leading to an argument between her and Lynch. At one point during the match, Becky reversed a Black Widow attempt from AJ by blasting her in a corner and then hit the Manhandle Slam for a near fall.

Frustrated at not being able to secure the pinfall, Becky got into the face, but this time Carr responded by pushing her. AJ capitalized on this and executed a Manhandle Slam of her own, but Lynch kicked out. After initially falling to lock in the Black Widow, Lee finally got her submission locked in, but this time, Becky grabbed AJ’s hair and ultimately grabbed the rope.

Becky then punched Lee and exposed the turnbuckle that she had previously. But this time, he used Jessica Carr to her advantage, as the Irish star pulled her in front of AJ, who was charging toward her.

This allowed Becky to hit AJ’s head on the exposed turnbuckle and deliver another Manhandle Slam to secure the victory and regain the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

Becky is now a three-time Women’s IC Champion. AJ Lee’s reign ends at 50 days. She won the title at Elimination Chamber in Chicago on February 28, 2026.
