Booker T Calls Gunther The Ultimate Test For John Cena

On the latest episode of the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T talked about John Cena facing Gunther in his retirement match on December 13th at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. The match takes place tonight and airs live on Peacock.

Gunther won the Last Time is Now Tournament to get the shot against Cena tonight. You can check out some highlights below:

On the Match:

“I think it’s the ultimate test for John Cena. To go out there and take on the guy that’s really staking his claim to what’s going on in today’s wrestling. And that’s Gunther. I mean, nobody goes out and does it like that guy. He makes it so real, so intense, so right there in your face.”

On Gunther:

“There’s no air in between what Gunther does, as far as the camera and watching. It’s as real as it possibly can be. It’s almost like Brock Lesnar in a sense.”

On Cena Showing People What He Has Left:

“It’s gonna be the ultimate test for John Cena to go out there and show this young guy how good the old guy still is. And for me, John Cena still has a little left in the tank. He may not be as great as he once was, but he still can be great once. So no, I’m looking forward to seeing exactly how this thing plays out.”
