Bully Ray Says Chelsea Green Beatdown On WWE Smackdown Left a Bad Taste

Bully Ray was not a fan of Chelsea Green taking a loss and getting beat down on WWE Smackdown after her Women’s Title win at SummerSlam. Friday’s show featured a segment in which Green and Tiffany Stratton were confronted by Fatal Influence. The two lost a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match to Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, with Green taking the pin. After the match, Greem and Stratton were beaten down by Nia Jax and Lash Legend.
Bully Ray spoke about the matter on Busted Open Radio. He noted that the segment hurt Green — and not just in the literal way, as she suffered a broken orbital bone. You can see highlights of his comments below (per Wrestling Inc):
On the Post-Match Beatdown By Jax & Legend:
“It kind of left a bad taste in my mouth like, ‘Come on. Give her a little something’… It was just too much of beating down Chelsea Green. I’m not saying she’s going to go from zero to hero in one week, but come on, man. Give me a follow up… It would have been a good win for Chelsea. People would have popped, but no.”
On Green Taking the Pinfall:
“At least you bring the people up, and then you take it away. At least Chelsea has some hope, then you take it away. In this way, there was nothing for her.”
