Bully Ray Loved Sami Zayn’s Aggression At Start of Match With CM Punk On WWE Raw

Bully Ray recently highlighted a particular moment he loved in the CM Punk vs. Sami Zayn match on WWE Raw, which he said “fired up” both competitors and the crowd. Punk defeated Zayn to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of the show, a match that was originally scheduled to be Rhodes vs. Zayn before Rhodes was written out of the match due to an attack by Gunther.

Bully talked about the match on Busted Open Radio and praised the little moment just before the match began when Zayn shoved Punk’s face back, talking about how it got everyone into the match a little more.

“When Punk gets in the ring and Sami walks to Punk and they’re face-to-face — out of nowhere, Sami mushes Punk right in the face,” Bully noted (per Wrestling Inc). “That got a gasp from the audience and that slight little mush, shoving Punk’s head, meant so much. I don’t think Punk knew it was coming… Look at his face light up afterward. He was like, ‘Oh. Okay, mothertrucker. This is the way it’s going to be?'”

He went on to say, “I love those little things that the boys don’t talk about, but they do anyway, because we know what the job is. I think that fired Punk up. I think it fired Sami up. I know it fired the crowd up, because I heard the reaction to it.”

Punk has now moved to the Smackdown brand and will be appearing on this week’s episode on Friday night.
