During a recent edition of Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray had some harsh words for Jon Moxley and the Death Riders’ performances in AEW. He called Moxley a “fraud,” and said the group is a way for Moxley to play out “his pro wrestling fantasies because he’s got Tony Khan’s ear.” Below are some highlights (via WrestlingInc.com):
Bully Ray on the Death Riders
“The Death Riders have not helped AEW in any way, shape, or form. The Death Riders are Jon Moxley playing out his pro wrestling fantasies because he’s got Tony [Khan’s] ear. Because he wants to be Terry Funk? I would kick the **** out of Jon Moxley.”
On How He Could Beat Up Moxley But Not Claudio Castagnoli
“But Moxley? I’d beat the living s**t out of him. Fraud.”
On the Death Riders’ Current Storyline With Will Ospreay
“Hopefully, they book to put asses in seats while incorporating The Death Riders into this main event match, and not just for what they want to see. Too many times, I’ve seen wrestlers booked for what they want to see and what they think social media will pop for. The only thing you want to book for is for people to put their hand into their pocket and pay money to sit in a seat,” Bully further explained. “That’s the goal, that’s the business of The Business.”
On last Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite, Brodido (Brody King and Bandido) reunited to beat the Deaath Riders’ Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia. Moxley is currently scheduled to defend his AEW Continental Title against Bandido in one week at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026.
