Darius Rucker To Perform National Anthem At WWE SummerSlam

Darius Rucker is set to perform the National Anthem at WWE SummerSlam early next month, as announced on Monday. WWE announced via Twitter that Rucker will perform the National Anthem on night two of the PLE on August 2nd.

Rucker is known both for his time as the frontman of 1990s rock band Hootie & The Blowfish and his solo career. He began his solo career with R&B in 2002 and then transitioned to country in 2008, where he has gone on to have a successful run. He has three Grammy Award wins, two CMA Awards, and an ACM Award.

Rucker is also a noted wrestling fan and narrated the three-part docuseries looking at Ric Flair’s Last Match in 2022. He signed a deal for a WWE line in his Fanatics merchandise collection in April.

WWE SummerSlam takes place on August 1st and 2nd from US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The show airs live on ESPN Unlimited in the US and on Netflix internationally.
