Early Rundown For Tonight’s WWE Smackdown Taping

WWE is taping this week’s episode of WWE Smackdown tonight after Raw, and a new report has the pre-taping rundown for the show. As noted, WWE is returning to two hours with this week’s Smackdown and is taping the episode after Monday’s Raw at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
You can see the rundown for the episode below, per Fightful Select. Of course, this being the pre-taping rundown, there are always changes possible and we’ll have full spoilers once they come online.
* Sami Zayn promo. Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso are set to interrupt, leading to a #1 contenders match being set for the main event. The report notes that WWE has prepared for a promo in case the fans chant “You Deserve It” at Zayn.
* Cathy Kelley interviews Charlotte Flair
* Charlotte Flair, Tiffany Stratton, Michin vs. Baddies. The Baddies are set to win, with Cargill getting the victory.
* Backstage Adam Pearce segment. Sami Zayn, Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae are set to be involved.
* AAA Cruiserweight Championship Match: Rey Fenix vs. El Hijo Del Vikingo. Rey Fenix is scheduled to win.
* Cathy Kelley interviews Giulia. Blake Monroe is expected to attack Giulia. Kiana James will also get attacked.
* Jimmy Uso & Jacob Fatu backstage
* Trick Williams segment. Carmelo Hayes is scheduled to be involved in the segment.
* Danhausen segment. Miz, Matt Cardona, and Kit Wilson are set to continue their storyline with Danhausen.
* Brie Bella vs. Lainey Reid. Reid is expected to win.
* Backstage segment
* Undisputed WWE Championship #1 Contenders Match: Cody Rhodes vs. Jey Uso. Rhodes is set to win, with the Bloodline and MFTs expected to get involved.
The report also notes that Royce Keys will continue his storyline with Jacob Fatu while Damian Priest, R-Truth, Fraxiom and War Raiders have a backstage angle.
Additionally, Finn Balor and Cody Rhodes have an angle which leads to involvement by Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga.
Finally, Danhausen vs. JD McDonagh will be set for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event at Madison Square Garden on July 18th.
