Gunther Has Altercation With Nick Aldis Backstage On WWE Night of Champions Post-Show

Gunther was none too happy about losing at WWE Night of Champions and got in an altercation with Smackdown GM Nick Aldis during the post-show. As noted, Sami Zayn defeated Gunther and Cody Rhodes to capture the WWE Undisputed Championship in the main event of Saturday’s PLE. Zayn had interjected himself into he feud between Rhodes and Gunther on Smackdown in recent weeks, and he screwed Gunther out of the title when he worked as the guest referee (on Gunther’s demand) a couple of weeks ago.

During the post-show, the cameras cut backstage to where Gunther walked up on Aldis and asked if he was happy, accusing him of screwing him over again. Gunther suggested Aldis was “f**king jealous” because he was a “failed wrestler.” Gunther put his hands on Aldis, who shoved back and they had to be separated.

After the segment, the panelists spoke about it and Big E noted that Aldis didn’t back down. The hosts teased that it could be “leading to something more.”

Aldis has not wrestled since he came to WWE, though there have been teases of it happening with other talent including Drew McIntyre. It was noted in a report in January that Aldis is not retired, and he has previously said he would like to have at least one more match.
