Details On How Carmelo Hayes Is Viewed Backstage In WWE

A new report has some details on how Carmelo Hayes is viewed backstage by people within WWE. The latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A featured a question asking how the former WWE United States Champion is thought of behind the scenes.

It was noted in the answer that there’s never been any word of Hayes being viewed negatively backstage and that Hayes as always been spoken of as dependable, professional and with a high level of potential. Hayes was, as is fairly well known, someone who Shawn Michaels was high on in NXT although that doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s a favorite of Triple H and the creative team on the main roster.

Hayes was WWE United States Champion for 98 days before losing the title to Sami Zayn back in March. He challenged Baron Corbin for the United States Championship on last week’s episode of WWE Smackdown but failed to win the title.
