A new report has details on the current plans for how many nights the 2027 WWE Royal Rumble will take place over. WWE has been slowly expanding its Big Four PPVs to multi-night events, with WrestleMania expanding to two nights in 2020 for WrestleMania 36 while WWE SummerSlam became a two-night PLE last year. That’s led to speculation that the Royal Rumble could be next, and WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that the company was seriously considering making next year’s iteration a two-night show.
However, the outlet cites sources as saying that as it currently stands, it is expected that next year’s show will remain at one night. There is still “significant interest” within the company of eventually having it take place over multiple nights, but that is unlikely for next year at this time.
WWE announced on Tuesday that the 2027 WWE Royal Rumble will emanate from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The announcement did not mention a specific date; only that it will take place in February. This year’s Royal Rumble took place on January 31st from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
