– According to a new report, the meeting that Impact Wrestling officials had with WWE was over possibly having Impact content air on WWE Network. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter says that Impact was pitching to WWE officials, and that it regarded the company’s tape library and the WWE Network. WWE reportedly asked for the meeting, the site noted in Thursday’s Wrestling Observer update.

The implication is that Impact would retain the library and possibly (assuming any deal was eventually reached) license it to air on WWE Network. The original report included an assertion by sources within the company that no discussion was had of selling the company nor the tape library, as neither were up for sale.

According to the site, Impact is still struggling in terms of mainstream star power and is continuing to lose money despite its creative resurgence. The company makes very little money on the Pop TV deal, and the company is making less than they previously did in the UK which leaves India as the only deal bringing in significant money for them. The Pop TV deal expires at the end of the year.

WWE was once in talks to buy the company back when it was on the selling block, but Anthem ultimately made the deal. Impact and WWE have been on positive terms as of late, and Impact has licensed content to air on the Network for the Hardy Boyz and AJ Styles specials.
