Jody Threat learned the art of professional wrestling while training under Josh Alexander, something she recently reflected on in a new interview. Threat trained under the now-AEW star at Canadian Strong Style Wrestling Academy before making her in-ring debut back in 2017. She has since gone on to become a featured Knockout on TNA television, having signed there in 2023, and she spoke about learning from Alexander oin an interview with Denise Salcedo. You can check out the highlights below (per Fightful):
On the Experience Of Being Trained By Alexander:
“Very intimidating at first. Josh is like very stoic, we’ll say. If you don’t know him, it’s a very intimidating character, but once you get to know him, he’s very caring and very funny. I thought for me and what I was trying to get out of it, he was the perfect person to give me those skills. Even his teaching style is very much how I like it, he’ll tell you that you suck and he’ll give you a pat on the back when you do good. There’s no soothing if you suck, it’s just, this is why it wasn’t good, now fix it and you say yes and you do it and you get the thumbs up when you do good.”
On Having the Opportunity To Learn From Alexander:
“I’m so thankful that I did have access to him with him being, in my opinion, the best in Canada. For him to be in the region that I live, I’m in Toronto and he was just outside of Toronto, I really did luck out and I just feel like the universe and stars knew that this was the person I was supposed to be guided by, the person to mentor me.”
