Twenty years ago, John Cena released his famous You Can’t See Me album during his run as The Doctor of Thuganomics.
The album featured 16 tracks, including the iconic The Time Is Now. Interestingly, in a recent interaction with Billboard, the 17-time World Champion revealed that as many as 70 tracks from the iconic album never made it out.
“There’s like 70 lost tracks of the album that never made it out. I was able to shave off the ones that shouldn’t make and give you the ones that should, and I’m lucky to get that,” he said.
When asked if he had any plans for a follow-up album, Cena said it’s a “young man’s game” and that he became a rapper by accident.
“It is a young man’s game, and I’m not in it anymore. The rapping thing was an accident. I listened to the music they played for me, and I’m like, ‘I can do better than this—wait, I could do better than this.'”
John Cena, of course, is set to wind up his pro wrestling career this weekend. He will face two-time World Heavyweight Champion Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. The Ring General earned the opportunity by defeating LA Knight in the final of The Last Time Is Now Tournament. Cena recently commented on Gunther being his final opponent inside the squared circle.
