As previously reported, a lawsuit was filed in November of 2023 over the company’s merger TKO, with recent filings arguing that WWE investigation into Vince McMahon was a “sham” and that McMahon manipulated the sale process to Endeavor for his benefit. Nick Khan, Triple H and former board members George Barrios and Michelle Wilson are also defendants.
According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, John Laurinaitis, as well as assistants for Vince McMahon, have been subpoenaed for the suit. Laurinaitis was scheduled to be, and likely already has been, deposed on September 26 via Zoom at his attorney’s office in Florida. It should be noted that he is not a defendant in the suit.
Meanwhile, Paul Mangieri and Michael (Mickey) Mangieri, who were McMahon’s assistants during that time period, were also subpoenaed for documents.
Liberty Media , who owns Formula 1 and other assets, as well as major private equity firm KKR, will be deposed. People at Liberty Media who would know the most about the subjects the plaintiffs are inquiring about will be interviewed under oath tomorrow. KKR partner Ted Oberwager will be deposed on October 30. It’s believed that both Libert and KKR were possible bidders for WWE when it was up for sale.
The lawsuit is currently in the discovery phase and more depositions are expected.
