Keep Refreshing For The Latest Results

SICKOS! It’s Wednesday, you know what that means! AEW Dynamite is LIVE tonight from the Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia, and with a mere ten days left until All-Out takes place in the Windy City of Chicago, the company will continue to march onward with the build to the annual September offering!

The card will be littered with multi-person matches, starting with an 8-man tag that pits the World Tag Team Champions Cage and Copeland teaming with the TNT Champion Darby Allin and his protege Steven Borden to face FTR and Don Callis Family members Kyle Fletcher and “The Jet” Kevin Knight. Also on top in the multi-person department is a 6-man tag pairing up Jon Moxley, PAC, and Gabe “The MADMAN” Kidd to oppose AEW World Heavyweight Champion Will Opsreay, AEW National Champion Andrade El Idolo, and Francesco Akira.

Elsewhere on the card, the simmering rivalry between Nick Wayne and Chris Jericho, which has been given all the more ammunition by the use of the word douchebag, will face one another in the ring. And speaking of rivalries, AEW Women’s Tag Team Champion Jamie Hayter go up against Lena Kross in a match that most certainly will NOT involve their partners, I am sure! . All of this and, of course, so much more in store for us tonight!

So, how is everyone doing on this Hump Day? I think that I am completely past the Phillies doing anything in the playoffs. They are losing to the teams that they SHOULD be losing to and also losing to the teams that they SHOULDN’T be losing to. At this point, I hope that both the Diamondbacks and the Padres skip us over, we miss the playoffs, and changes are made. Eagles season debut was a success in the win column, but as usual, was too close for comfort. But, if you look at it as being “preseason games” for the starters (since practically all of them do not participate in the actual preseason), then this was a rollicking success, especially for number one, keeping the main thang the main thang, he is him, Jalen Hurts!

And, as a dutiful reminder, I am now down to SIX days away from seeing the Hall-of-Fame act Cheap Trick in Greensburg! As a way to build up to it, I have been jamming their entire disco and also reading the book that I picked up by Robert Lawson reviewing and documenting the obvious but also the more obscure, such as serial numbers for singles and all the various outtakes from their records. It’s called “Still Competition” and if you are like me (and I know I am!) you’ll like the book as much as I do!

But enough about me (seriously, this intro went way too long and will piss off those upset about my work already) and enough about you, let’s get ready to make the Dynamite go BOOM!

BOOM

Dynamite is LIVE from Virginia, the state for lovers, which is fitting, because the loveable trio of Excalibur, Tony Schaivone, and Taz will be on the call!

Excalibur brings in the show as usual and shouts out the World Title match at All-Out and the main event tonight. Tony’s turn to take over. I have to say I’m slightly disappointed that Taz doesn’t wear sunglasses anymore. Excalibur mentions that the 8-man match is opening the show, as we the ending of Rebel Heart Dynamite, where FTR interfered in the main event and got saved by Darby Allin and Steven Borden.

Renee Paquette has Allin, Copeland, and Borden in the back. Copeland says that Darby has had his back since day one, and he wants Borden to keep it going because he impressed him last week. Here comes Father of the Year, who says he is sorry for the loss of Steven’s father…

His career, that is.

This leads to an argument between Allin and Cage over unfinished business and Cage tells him that he wore the TNT Title better than Allin does. Copeland: So are we good for tonight? It appears that way.

Elsewhere around the back, we cut to FTR, Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Don Callis, and Big Stoke. Stoke says that FTR have defeated the Young Bucks in the past and they are deserving of a tag team title shot. Fletcher and Knight say they also defeated to the Bucks, leading to a short argument between Don and Stoke. FTR and Stoke leave. Fletcher: Aren’t we the top guys?

Its sing along time with the Rock The Cope!

FTR, Kevin Knight, and Kyle Fletcher w/Don Callis and Big Stoke vs. AEW World Tag Team Champions Cage and Copeland, TNT Champion Darby Allin, and Steven Borden

Copeland and Fletcher jaw at one another at the bell. Tie-up to the ropes, and Copeland pats Fletcher on the cheek lol. FUCK DON CALLIS chants from the crowd as Copeland and Fletcher switch arm control. Adam wrestles Kyle to the mat, and Kyle escapes to the floor. Knight comes over and hypes him up before Kyle gets back into the ring.

Allin tags in, but Cage tags instead. Allin slaps Christian on the back and he’s back in lol. Allin with a side-headlock to Fletcher, Kyle powers free, but his suplex is countered with knees to the head. Tag to Borden, and they bounce Fletcher around a bit. Everyone hits the ring and its SERIOUS time as Paul Turner keeps the peace. Wow, you never EVER see that from an AEW ref LMAO.

It’s Borden and Dax Harwood now, as Borden takes him to the corner and gives a clean break. Dax responds with two shoulder tackles and knees to the gut of Borden. Borden with the DROPKICK! The cover, but Cash Wheeler pulls Borden’s hair. Dax ends up punching both Kyle and Kevin “by accident’! Borden fires Harwood off, but he gets another shoulder tackle. Harwood punches Darby in the face, so he fights with Dax on the floor. BEDLAM IN THE RING! That takes us to the break!

Wheeler has Allin strangled as we return. He hits a jaw breaker to get away, but Fletcher tags in, and Darby is in rough shape again. Allin crawls towards the corner for a tag, but FTR and Knight drag his tag team partners off the apron. Borden is back on the apron, and Darby manages to tag him in. Borden with the DROPKICK to Knight that sends him to the floor. Harwood wrestles Borden to the corner, they head to the top. Harwood looking for a Superplex, Borden scores with forearms that drop Dax to the mat. Here comes Wheeler, Copeland lines him up for a SPEAR, but Fletcher hits him with a thrust kick!

All the faces are cleared except for Borden, who is still stuck on the top rope. Dax hits the Superplex, and the rest of the heels join in to help with the Power and the Glory! Harwood sets up for the Sharpshooter on Borden, but Allin is in to save him with the Coffin Drop! Borden pins Harwood for the win!
WINNERS: Christian Cage, Adam Copeland, Darby Allin, and Steven Borden
TIME: 14:40
THOUGHTS: Borden got a LOT of shine in this match, and for good reason. His potential is limitless, but him being in multi-person matches is arguably the best way to go for now. The match was a pretty good opener for the show.
RATING: ***3/4

Post-match, the faces celebrate. Cage offers to help Allin up, he accepts, but we have a title raising competition between them instead.

Death Riders backstage promo. Jon Moxley does the talking while Gabe Kidd and PAC stand behind him. Moxley says it seemed like fate that it would come down to Ospreay and Moxley in the end. Jon is proud of Will for what he has accomplished, but you have to understand than when you have a title, that makes you the best in the World. Moxley doesn’t take that lightly, and neither should you, Will. Moxley says he wants to do this the right way, while PAC and Kidd wanted to tune him up in the parking lot. The MADMAN barks some stupid shit I can’t understand and leaves. PAC says that there is a fine line between United Empire and the Death Riders, because it’s us against the World! He stares at Moxley when he says we are NOT going to let Will Ospreay off the hook. Moxley looks sideways at him, and PAC turns his back to Jon. Ohhhhhhhhhhh shit.

Video package for the Chicago Street Fight between The Brawling Birds and Divine Dominion for the Women’s Tag Titles at All-Out next Saturday. Jericho will face Nick Wayne, next!

BREAK IN PROGRESS!

It’s sing along with The Rock Jericho! We get an inset video for the “feud” that started two weeks ago between Wayne and Jericho.

Chris Jericho vs. Nick Wayne

The bell rings and get some pandering from Jericho. Wayne opens with an arm drag and mock claps lol. More pandering from Jericho, another lock-up and another arm drag from Wayne. Jericho locks up and works over the arm of Nick into a hip toss. Wayne laughs it off and spits in the face of Jericho. He begs to get smacked, and so Jericho obliges lol. Chops to the corner takes Wayne to the mat and he tries to crawl away. Wayne’s throw is reversed by a Bulldog from Jericho. Jericho looking Lionsault, but Nick rips him off the ropes by his hair.

WHERES YOUR MOM chants as Wayne lays in some kicks, but Jericho quickly reverses it into a backbreaker. Jericho hooks Wayne and holds him the air for a stalling vertical suplex for a two. Wayne to his feet, and he pokes the eye of Jericho. Nick with a thrust kick and he sends Jericho to the apron. Wayne on the apron, he peppers Jericho with punches. Wayne thinking Spanish Fly, but Jericho catches him and they kind of just stand there lol. Jericho ends up dropping Wayne on the apron with a DVD! Jericho mean mugs the camera, but he gets thrown into the ring steps. Jericho is right up and Wayne attempts a Destroyer where he clearly didn’t rotate Jericho over enough. Yikes. That’ll take us to the break.

Wayne mocks Jericho as we return. Jericho with chops, Wayne knees him in the gut, but he runs into a back body drop from the veteran. Jericho sends Wayne to the floor, he pops back up on the apron, but Jericho hits the running corner dropkick! Jericho to the top, and he lands on top of Wayne with a Crossbody! YOU STILL GOT IT chants as Jericho slaps Wayne and sits him on the apron. Wayne intercepts Jericho’s next move and hits a thrust kick. Jericho is trapped in the ropes, and Wayne hits a Senton Atomico to Jericho! Wayne to the very top, but Jericho springs to life and hits a Codebreaker for a two!

Jericho has Wayne in his grasp, but Wayne counters with a STUNNER and hits a standing Sliced Bread for a two. Nick eyes up Jericho, but he misses a roundhouse kick, and Jericho looking for the Walls. Wayne grabs the foot of Aubrey and kicks Jericho away. SUPERKICK from Wayne, he heads to the top, but Jericho intercepts him. Ten punches and a RANA from the top follows! We go across the ring, where Jericho does the damn deal. Judas Effect avoided, Nick hits Wayne’s World, but Jericho is out at 2.5!

Both men get to their knees and chops are dealt like cards. To their feet, where the strikes continue. Jericho pulls of Wayne’s neck, and Nick losses his mind! Jericho rolls through Wayne and traps him for the win!
WINNER: Chris Jericho
TIME: 14:00
THOUGHTS: The first half before the commercial break wasn’t very crisp, with a couple of botches. The second half of the match was better, but I’m surprised that Jericho won the match here. Oh well, at least Wayne got his heat back!
RATING: ***

Post-match, Wayne is beside himself over what happened to his necklace. Jericho wants his music cut, and he offers a hand to Nick. Wayne complains and turns his back on Jericho. Jericho goes to leave the ring, but Wayne gets back to his feet, and he kicks the middle rope right into Jericho’s balls! Wayne uses his necklace to punch Jericho in the head. Nick heads out and grabs a chair and attacks Jericho with it.

Excalibur lets us know that Mercedes Mone is not cleared to compete next Saturday at All-Out, BUT she will be cleared to for WrestleDream on October 17th in Orlando! So, as a result, Willow Nightingale will face Thekla at All-Out, with the winner moving on to WrestleDream to face Mone for the Title! This is followed by a video package to hype the match next Saturday. The highlight of it was Thekla making fun of Willow and Mercedes getting injured and asking if she is the last real bitch around here. She also makes fun of Willow for “shooting confetti out of her titties.” Never, EVER change, Thekla!

The 6-man match is coming up, next!

BREAK IN PROGRESS!

Renee has Will Ospreay, Franesco Akira, and Andrade El Idolo in the back. She asks Will about the United Empire, and Ospreay things are going well for the group because his little brother Callum Newman is running things. But it’s awkward because Andrade is in the group, and he is holding that contract. He tells Andrade anytime he wants to cash-in, let him know. Andrade says HOW YOU KNOW, and Ospreay says you have to let me know, Bossman! Akira starts frantically speaking in Italian, Andrade asks if he can understand him, and Ospreay says no lol. He tells Akira to look into the camera and say something in English.

Akira: IT’S TIME TO THIS SHIT GOING AND SMACK SOME BITCHES!

LMAO. Give him more promo time!

The Conglomeration vs. Hangman Adam Page and Brodido

FUCK ICE chants at the bell. Well done, SICKOS! O’Reilly and Page to start this one. Tony mentions that Hangman has never lost a match in his home state as Kyle and Adam fight to fairly even tides. Hangman tags in Bandido, who comes from the top with a double axe-handle. Bandido is in charge until O’Reilly kicks him in the throat. Kyle tags in Orange Cassidy and they hit some double team offense. O’Reilly flexes, which allows Bandido to tag in Brody King. Brody goes to chop Cassidy, but he walks out of the corner. King sends him back to the corner, but Cassidy blocks his slaps with high-fives lol. King eventually gets tired of this and runs over Cassidy. OC kips up, but King is standing right behind him. Cassidy escapes and tags in Roderick Strong, as Strong and King hammer each other with chops. That takes us to the break.

Bandido has Cassidy up in the air for the prolonged vertical suplex as we return. Tags are made to Hangman and Roddy. Page hits everyone without prejudice. Back body drop and a big boot from Hangman. Page has Strong lined up, but Cassidy is behind him. Strong kicks him away, and he goes to throw Cassidy into him, but Hangman catches him, kicks Roddy in the face, and hits the Fallaway Slam on Cassidy. Everyone fights on the floor for a bit, and back in the ring, Hangman hits a DVD to Strong for a two.

King gets the tag, and he stacks up Roddy and Kyle in the corner. King fires in his teammates, but Strong and O’Reilly send Hangman and Bandido to the floor lol. King runs in to smash both men, Cassidy tags in, and King smacks him off the apron. CANNONBALL to both Kyle and Roddy! King to the floor where he lays out O’Reilly with a Tope. Cassidy tries to take out King, but he gets caught. He does move and King runs into the chair at ringside, which is followed by a Sick Kick from Strong.

Back in the ring, and Bandido has Cassidy up into a Military Press into a CUTTER! Cassidy gets saved by his teammates, who work over Bandido. Cassidy with the Orange Punch to Bandido, but King makes the save. Cassidy is drug to his corner where Strong tags in. Hangman is there to meet him, and this is a good old Decade moment for the OG ROH fans. Cassidy off the top with a crossbody to Hangman. He looks for the DDT, but he jumps onto the back of Hangman and wants to ride him like a horse lol. Hangman does the same to Cassidy, but it leads to him eating a huge running knee to the face. We’ve entered the “Get Your Shit in” part of the match, and it ends with Hangman clobbering Roddy with the Buckshot Lariat!
WINNERS: Brodido and Hangman Adam Page
TIME: 13:30
THOUGHTS: This was a pretty fun match, NGL. I know some people complain about face-face matches, but when done right, it can be so much fun, and this one was.
RATING: ****

We go back to Collision, where the show was in honor of the late and very great Andy Williams aka the Butcher. Daniel Garcia winning the Butcher Battle Royale was personal for him, because Andy took Danny under his wing as a fellow Buffalo native.

MY SHADOW KNOWS MY STORY! During his entrance, we get Ciampa with an in-set promo where he calls out Okada and wants his International Title. Interesting.

Tommaso Ciampa vs. Myles Hawkins

The bell rings, and Hawkins wants Ciampa to wait until he takes off his ring jacket lol. CIAMPA’S GONNA KILL YOU chants as Ciampa lowers his kneepad. This isn’t going to end well, innit? As if on cue, Ciampa strikes Hawkins in the side of the head and that’s it!
WINNER: Tommaso Ciampa
TIME: 50 seconds
THOUGHTS: Ciampa isn’t paid by the hour. Or the minute. Or even up to sixty seconds, apparently.
RATING: Death via Psycho Killer

Excalibur runs down what is left on tonight’s show. We will hear from Swerve and the New Level, next!

BREAK IN PROGRESS!

Schiavone is holding the ring when we return. He announces the Trio’s Title match for next week and then welcomes out Strickland, Prince Nana, and the New Level! Swerve and Nana are out first, and after Swerve does his post on the ramp, we’re joined by the New Level!

The Demand are here and they attack the Champions! Nana runs away to perverse his own life, and the assault continues. Austin Creed manages to fight back, but he gets clipped by Toa Liona. Kofi jumps Liona from behind but gets thrown down and SMASHED with a lariat. Strickland rolls into the ring, realizes he is down 3-on-1, and tries to fight anyway until he is overwhelmed. Spirit Gun from Ricky, Open the Gates from GOA, and the Demand stack up the Champions. Ricky grabs the titles to YOU’RE STILL BALD chants, and they pose with the titles over the Champions.

It’s time for Jungle Jack Perry! He’s been on a mission to face the great former World Champions. Two down, and he’s gotten his ass kicked all over the place. But he loves it. He is learning something, and he is feeling something. He is inching his way towards the impossible dream. He wanted to face the best so he can be the best. He isn’t waiting to call his own shot, and he’s going out Samoa Joe. Well, it was nice knowing you, Jack. He knows they call Joe a legend but come back and make Jack’s Day! The camera tilts, and we see JOE’S GONNA KILL YOU painted on the wall.

It’s time for monocles and a Commonwealth Slugfest! Interesting that Megan and Alex aren’t coming out as well. Renee reads a direct quote from the Brawling Birds saying that, “They are going to beat these slags, beat the piss out of them, and smack their tits so hard.” I, uh, where and when?

AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter vs. Lena Kross

Kross hits a thrust kick before the bell as Hayter was removing her coat. Doesn’t matter, however, as Hayter fights back with clotheslines and a bit boot to Kross. Jamie sends Lena to the ring apron, Lena kicks Jamie in the face, but Hayter hits a Dragon Screw in the ropes. Hayter swings around the ring post, and Kross catches her and throws her into the ring apron. I’m not quite sure what Jamie was trying to, NGL. Jamie sends Lena into the ring apron back first, but Lena catches Jamie off the apron and powerbombs her onto said apron. That’ll take us to the break.

Kross is in complete control as we return. She does get a LITTLE too cocky and misses a clothesline, allowing Hayter the chance to hit a clothesline of the flying variety. Hayter takes charge and sends Kross to the corner face-first, where Hayter hits the Area Code Jones! Hayter to the top rope and she hits the missile dropkick for a two. Jamie looking for some Hayterade, but Lena fights it off and hits a German. Lovely pin, but it’s just a two. Hayter with an inside cradle for a two. Hayter hits a step-up enziguri, Kross with a DVD, so Jamie pops up and hits her own DVD lol.

The match resets as both ladies lay in the forearms. Hayter is in control until Kross hits her with a front face suplex and she smashes Jamie with a big knee strike for a two. Lena is belligerent, and she falls into a German from Jamie! Hayter with her head shot knee strike, but Lena kicks out at two. Jamie looking Hayterade, but she ends up hitting the Backbreaker and Urinage combo for a two.

Megan Bayne is here! She’s holding the tag team title belt as Aubrey admonishes her. This allows Kross the chance to reach under the ring and grab a pipe. Tony: She grabbed a pipe! What a pervert lol. Kross hits Jamie in the gut with said pipe and then hits the Jackhammer for the win.
WINNER: Lena Kross
TIME: 11:10
THOUGHTS: This was a really good match with two big girls just beating the PISS out of each other until Bayne showed up to help out Kross. More of this please, and more time for it, also please.
RATING: ***3/4

Video package for Andrade El Idolo. We get a lot of footage from Andrade and his Familia, which is really cool. Andrade says that it isn’t just an expression, he is destined to win the World Title!

Renee has Kazuchika Okada in the back. Renee asks him if he has a response to Ciampa’s challenge.

Okada: Yes!
Renee: What is it?
Okada: I have given it a lot of thought, but Ciampa is a BITCH!

This doesn’t sit well with Ciampa, who attacks Okada from off-screen. He drops the kneepad and smashes Okada into the head. He tells Okada make no mistake, he said the Psycho Killer wants the Rainmaker and leaves.

Our main event is coming up, next!

BREAK IN PROGRESS!

Talking continues, as Renee has The Brawling Birds in the back. Windsor says that you two like two slags love to bend the rules, but there will be no rules when they face each other next week at All-Out for the titles.

It’s time for the MAIN EVENT!

The Death Riders vs. AEW World Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay, AEW National Champion Andrade El Idolo, and Fransesco Akira

The bell rings, as Ospreay and Moxley will start this one. The BRUV Riders explode! We get a crap ton of posturing before Moxley tags in the MADMAN! Kidd tries to eat the fingers of Ospreay, as Kidd and PAC run the clothesline train. Ospreay fights back with a snap Rana to PAC and hits a Standing SSP to Kidd for a two. Ospreay tags in Andrade who tags in Akira. Ospreay puts Akira on his shoulders, and he sends him into a backsplash on Kidd. The faces hit stereo crossbody blocks to the floor, and Andrade finds the baddie to take a selfie with.

This allows the Death Riders the chance to single out Akira. Moxley chucks Akira into the barricade, and Kidd tries to rip his teeth out or something. Wheeler Yuta mocks Akira as he gets back into the ring. PAC is waiting for him, and he pins Akira for a two. PAC with a lariat to Akira and he taunts the fans, which causes Kidd to get all MAD and shit. Moxley is in, as Akira tries to chop his way through Moxley. That goes about as well as you would expect. Moxley applies a variation of the Texas Cloverleaf. Akira makes it to the ropes, and that will take us to our final break of the evening.

Moxley has Akira in peril and Kidd spits like a MADMAN at Ospreay as we return. EVERYONE takes the chance to choke out Akira while Ospreay and Andrade distract Grandpa Knox. FUCK YOU YUTA chants, as Akira FINALLY gets out of the corner. PAC pulls him in, but Akira rolls through and hits a double stomp to the Bastard! Andrade with the tag, and he lays into PAC with clotheslines. Kip Up, Tranquillo! IT’S TIME FOR THE PANTS TO COME OFF! Pac looks to take advantage, but Ospreay tags in. Andrade hits the knees in the corner to PAC followed by the BRUV forearm for a two.

Ospreay and PAC square up. Will uses PAC as a human wall and hits an Enziguri, but PAC replies with a snap German. Moxley wants the tag, and PAC obliges. Moxley grabs Ospreay by the back of the neck, both men trade forearms. Ospreay looking springboard CUTTER, but Moxley catches him with the Sleeper. Ospreay counters Moxley with the Tiger Driver! The pin, but the MADMAN punches Will in the head!

Will sends Kidd to the floor, but Gabe tries to drag Will out of the ring. Akira tags himself in and he takes it to PAC and Kidd with a moonsault to the floor! He heads to the apron, he kicks Moxley in the head and hits a springboard CUTTER for a two! Akira misses the knee strike, and Kidd hammers him from behind. Kidd goes to make love to the corner, so Ospreay catches his head for Cheeky Nandos. It’s time for everyone to get their shit in, and Akira rolls up Moxley for a two. King Kong Lariat from Moxley and he taunts Akira. Francesco to his feet, he batters Moxley with strikes the whole way to the corner! Moxley is down in the corner, Yuta is on the apron, but Akira dropkicks him to the floor. Moxley with a Paradigm Shift to Akira. A second one. A Death Rider to follow. Both Andrade and Ospreay get ambushed trying to save Akira, and Moxley with the Bulldog Choke for the tap out.
WINNERS: The Death Riders
TIME: 16:40
THOUGHTS: A very good main event. Everyone played their part well and, much like in the opener when Steven Borden got a lot of shine, Akira got a lot of shine in this match. While this match was good, this was more about the World Title match next weekend at All Out.
RATING: ***3/4

Post-match, Moxley won’t let go of the Bulldog Choke. When he does, he steps away only to apply it again. This happens a third time before Andrade is able to free himself to help out. The Dogs are here, and they attack Andrade. Moxley grabs a chair from ringside and gives it to Kidd. Gabe wraps it around the head of Akira, but Ospreay springs to life! Hidden Blades for all! The faces hold the ring despite, you know, being seriously outnumbered lol.

And with that, we are done!
