NXT Universe! Tonight is the night, for we are LIVE from the Mother Base, and we will crown a NEW NXT Men’s World Champion in a ladder match. The only question is who it will be, and who is going to try and interfere on behalf of any of the participants.
What we do know is that, after qualifying to get into the match, Shiloh Hill, Sean Legacy, Dion Lennox, and Keanu Carver will be involved. We also know that, because he is so awesome, that Ricky Saints did not have to qualify, and he went right to the match. And thanks to Joe Hendry magically getting laid out right in front of The Vanity Project, Jackson Drake will be in the match. And, in the event that he is medically cleared, Hendry will make the 7th and final entrant into the match.
Elsewhere on the show, the ladies will take center stage, as Izzi Dame will defend her North American Title against the woman she defeated for it in Thea Hail and, fresh off her appearance in the Women’s Royal Rumble this past Saturday, Lola Vice. The TNA Knockouts Tag Team Titles will be defended, as The Elegance Brand will crossover to NXT to face the team known as ZaRuca, that being Zaria and Sol Ruca, she herself also returning from the Women’s Royal Rumble.
We will also hear Tony D’Angelo, as he will explain his actions. This will only become a bit more interesting in light of the fact that Ava, the General Manager for the NXT brand, has exited the company after refusing to sign a new contract to remain. It will be interesting to see who replaces her, but I mean, we do have a Jolly good Englishman who loves to scream WAR GAMES. All of this and, of course, so much more in store for us tonight!
So, how is everyone doing tonight? Still finding myself being disenchanted by my sports teams, but at least I don’t have to watch the Eagles in the Superbowl. It seems like, at least to me, that there is more of a spectacle in and around the game itself rather than the teams playing the game.
But, enough about me and enough about you, let’s get ready to crown a NEW NXT Men’s World Champion!

THEN!
NOW!
FOREVER!
TOGETHER!
NXT is live tonight from the Mother Base in Orlando, Florida! Vic Joseph and Booker T will continue to bring their comedic banter and chemistry to the call tonight!
Well, no surprises pulled here, as Mr. Stone is going to be the NXT General Manager moving forward, at least on an interim basis!
We get the same video package from last week, highlighting the history of the NXT Men’s World Title, and the guys who will be competing for it tonight!
Much to my chargin (and I am sure everyone else’s) we return to live action to see the women involved in the NXT North American Title match in the ring. So, you’re telling me that we have time to air the same promo from last week, but we can’t see all the ladies make their entrances? LAME!
NXT North American Women’s Title Match: Izzi Dame W/Shawn Spears and Nico (C) vs. Lola Vice vs. Thea Hail
The bell rings, and Vice goes right after Dame. They trade back slides and pins. Hail gets involved, as all the ladies try to steal pins from one another. Dame throws Hail onto Vice and tries to smash them in the corner, but no one is home.
It’s down to Hail and Vice. Hail gets her hip toss turned into an arm bar from Vice! Hail escapes by rolling up Vice for a two. Vice shifts instead looking for a triangle, but again Hail rolls her up for a two. Dame flies in from out of nowhere, as she takes out both women. She tries to pin each of them as she only manages a two.
We see Ricky Saints arriving outside the arena, as Dame’s pin on Vice is broken up by Hail. Dame tries to powerbomb Hail, but she counters with a roll-up for a two. Vic says he feels bad for the ref, but that doesn’t make any sense to me lol. Dame ends up on the floor, and Hail takes out Nico! Vice with a dropkick to Dame, but Hail throws herself into Vice. Hail chews on the North American title as we head out for break.
During the break, Dame applies a sleeper hold to Hail, but Vice sneaks in and puts Dame in a sleeper hold lol. Code Breaker from Hail to Dame stops her offense. Hail to the top rope, but Vice meets her up top. Hail with a headbutt to Vice, which allows Dame to pick Vice up onto her shoulders. Combination Samoan Drop and Blockbuster to Vice!
All three women are down in the middle of the ring as they trade shots from their knees. They get back to their feet, and more shots are traded. Vice with the advantage, Booker melts down, as Vice runs from corner to corner bumping her booty into Dame and Hail. Thea manages to avoid another one, and Dame drops both her challengers.
Hail is the first to her feet, as she takes out both Dame and Vice. We see Joe Hendry getting ready in the back. So much for the mystery lol. Hail shakes the ropes like the Warrior, which allows Vice to sneak in from behind with a chokehold. Dame is back, but she eats a roundhouse kick from Vice. The cover, but Hail breaks it up.
Hail fights off Vice, but Lola still manages to get the Kimora. Dame is back, as she hits a pump kick to Vice. Hail counters Dame with a DDT. Hail wants the pin, but Dame sneaks away. Kelani Jordan is here, as she attacks Lola from behind. She pulls out a ladder, and she traps the hand of Vice in the ladder and stomps on it. Jordan takes her leave and says you won’t attack me anymore.
Dame gets rolled up by Hail in the confusion, but she kicks out. Dame traps Hail and hits the Sit-down Driver to retain her title.
WINNER: Izzi Dame (Still Champion)
TIME: 11:45
THOUGHTS: A really fun match and a good opener. Jordan attacking Vice took her out of the match to make it a one-on-one, where Dame could prove that her win the week before over Hail was not a fluke.
RATING: ***3/4
We see Wren Sinclair, Kendal Grey, and Sol Ruca in the back. The NQCC girls hype up Sol’s performance in the Royal Rumble this past Saturday. Zaria is here, as Grey and Sinclair take their leave. She questions how Ruca keeps getting these chances. Sol says she doesn’t ask for them, but she does take them. She asks Zaria if she would have done the same thing, and Zaria said she would have. But tonight, Zaria wants to win for herself!
We see Tony D’Angelo walking backstage. We will hear from The Don next!
COMMERCIALS!
Vic shills NXT hitting Center Stage in Atlanta on February 24th, two days after my Birthday!
We see Chase U in the back. Uriah tells Kale that he doesn’t regret what he did last week, and they have to handle business their way, because the Chase U way isn’t working. Here comes The Legacy. They make fun of Dixon and Connors. Lexis King says Dixon should take his birth right. Ariana Grace says if you want a shot at my guys, then they could use an easy win. King just wonders which one it will be.
The Don has arrived. He slowly makes his way to the ring and gets in, starring in the abyss. So, it’s been about seven months since he has had a chance to speak to us. He could make it simple and tell you that he came here for two reasons and leave it at that. But he wants the lights on so he can see everyone.
TONY chants ensue. He knows the people know his history in NXT. Heritage Champion, two-time tag team champion, North American champion. A year ago, he was happy. He was surrounded by family, friends, and people who had his back. But that was taken from him, and no dissrespect to his past, but that is the wakeup call he needed. Growing up in Chicago, he had to prove that he was tough. You gain a family and a crew, and that was new to me.
So, when DarkState decided to ruin my life, I had to regroup. I had to sit in a dark room and remember who Tony D’Angelo is by himself. He needed to remember that he was a National Champion, that he was a Division-I. He had to remember that what he does best is bounce people’s heads off the mats.
You know what? There is a reason why he came back the way he did. Dropping bodies, he wanted people to wonder where Tony was. In a business where everyone knows everything, they knew nothing, and he liked that. This is a selfish business, and it’s very selfish in NXT, and I like that.
There are two reasons I came back. DarkState, this isn’t about vengeance, this is about punishment. You took everything from me, now I am going to take everything from you. And reason number two, you’ll find out when I am done with DarkState. He drops the mic and leaves.
The Progressive Spotlight sees Shiloh Hill talking about everyone that he is in the ladder match with. No raccoons so no sell for me.
The White Eagle has landed and he will be in action next!
COMMERCIALS!
Jasper Troy promo. He swats highfliers out of the air, he told Josh Briggs that he is better than him, and he wants Charlie to try that George Hackenschmidt stuff on him. Destruction awaits in Atlanta.
WWE Speed Title Tourney Match: Elio LeFleur vs. Charlie Dempsey
Early pin falls are traded. Dempsey looks to have the upperhand, but Elio fights back and Charlie exits the ring. Elio to the top, and he hits a moonsault to Charlie. He returns Dempsey to the ring, but Charlie takes the pin for a two. He gets a bit mad, as we see Ricky Saints in the back.
Dempsey with an arm ringer to Elio, as he rolls out to the apron. Elio boots Charlie in the face, but when he heads to the top, Dempsey sweeps out his feet. Elio rolls up Charlie for a two. Big kick from Elio! To the top rope, missile dropkick! Elio gets to his feet, but Charlie with a counter German with a bridge for a two. Elio counters Dempsey with a head scissor and picks up the win!
WINNER: Elio LeFleur
TIME: 2:52
THOUGHTS: Man, these matches are fun due to the time limit, but hell to keep up with lol. Elio winning here was the right call, since he lost in his debut to Ethan Page a week ago, and Dempsey has been ice cold.
RATING: **3/4
Kelly Kincaid has the man whose name you don’t say in the back. Kelly says that with bruised ribs this match becomes harder for Joe to win. Hendry says he was having fun, recording songs and making fun of people. But he hasn’t had a title in seven months, and he will change that tonight. Say his name, and he appears, your NEW NXT Champion, Joe Hendry!
It’s time for more ladies and more titles!
COMMERCIALS!
Highlight package that highlights each member of the NXT Roster who took place in the Men’s and Women’s Rumble matches this past Saturday. Yes, they even show the recent graduates from NXT, including Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, and Lash Legend.
TNA Knockouts Tag Team Titles: The Elegance Brand W/The Personal Concierge (C) vs. ZaRuca
Heather and M By Elegance will be defending the titles. It is nice to see Ash back though, considering it seemed all but an adamant conclusion that her in-ring career was over a year ago. We see Daria Rae (the former Sonya Deville) in the crowd.
The hot referee rings the bell, as Zaria tells Sol she wants to start this match. She squares up with M, who grabs a headlock. She tries to shoulder tackle Zaria, but she doesn’t budge. She takes M to the mat, and Ruca tags in. She hits a standing moonsault for a two. M back to her feet and she hits a thrust kick and a spin kick.
Heather gets the tag, but she tags right back out lol. Both ladies choke Ruca in the corner, and the fans hate it lol. Double team drop toehold from the champions and an elbow drop from Heather gets them a two. Ruca rebounds with a standing kick to Heather. She sandwiches Heather in her corner, and she slaps Zaria on the chest to tag out. Zaria comes in, they fake some double team offense, but Zaria instead drops an elbow on Heather.
Ruca leaves the ring, as Zaria hits a vertical suplex to Heather. Zaria goes to mount Heather in the corner, but M, Ash, and Ruca end up distracting the ref. Heather kicks Ruca to the floor, M tags in and kicks Zaria out to the floor. The champions pose as we head out for the break.
The champions are in control during the break. We get ICEMAN SUCKS chants, which is very weird because in MLW, he was referred to as Iceman, but in TNA, he is the Personal Concierge. The things I find interesting lol. Vic says that M by Elegance was trained by Seth Rollins in Iowa after Booker T fawns over her.
Zaria is in deep trouble as she gets beaten up. She fights off both champions, she goes to tag in Sol, but she turns her back and fights off both Heather and M. Her comeback is short lived, as the champions take control again. Neat spot where M swings Heather around and front face slams her onto Zaria for a two.
Sol against escapes captivity from the Elegance corner. She feigns tagging in Sol, but she again refuses to, and she pays for it, as she gets chop blocked from behind by M while she has Heather up. M-bomb from the aptly named M for a two count. We see Sean Legacy getting ready for the main event in the back.
Ruca decides to take it upon herself, and she tags Zaria so she can enter the match. Clotheslines for both champions, missile dropkick and a running knee to Heather. Ruca implores Zaria to get back to the corner, but she is still on the floor. The champions use this distraction, as Heather takes down Ruca. M to the top, but her moonsault comes up empty.
Zaria tags herself in, she argues with Sol, and they end up hitting double SPEARS to the champions! Sol Snatcher from Ruca, but Zaria is shoved into her path, and she hits Zaria! Ash drags Ruca to the floor and throws her into the ring steps. Heather to the top, M has Ruca rolled over, Heather with a double stomp! The champions retain!
WINNERS: The Elegance Brand (Still Champions)
TIME: 11:45
THOUGHTS: More story line and less concerned about a title change from TNA to NXT. The impending breakup between Ruca and Zaria is still on time.
RATING: ***
In the back, Ethan Page grazes The Vanity Project. He says their attack on Hendry was admirable, but next time, they need to finish the job. They want to know what is up with Myles Borne, and Page says that he doesn’t listen to good advice from the greatest man in wrestling. But he knows the Vanity Project will listen to him, as he tells Jackson Drake to pick his spots in tonight’s ladder match and don’t go in guns blazing. He is a two-title holder, and tonight, Drake will become one, too.
COMMERCIALS!
Right before the show, we have a Jaida Parker sighting! The fans are chanting Ms. Parker, but here is Blake Monroe to attack her!
To the ring we go!
Chase U vs. Lexis King and Stacks
Odd cut to the match but hey, the guys are going at it right away. Dixon with a pin of Stacks for a two. He has an arm lock on Stacks, who gets to his feet. He runs the ropes, but King kicks Dixon in the back as he runs the ropes. King and Stacks tries to double team Dixon, but he lands on his feet, and he tags the wrong corner before he tags in Connors proper.
Connors enters like a house on fire, but Stacks extinguishes that fairly quickly. King tags in, but their double team offense again fails, and Connors with a headbutt to kick allows him to tag in Dixon. Kale with chops and kicks to King, ending with a chop to the back. Dixon to the top, but Stacks gets his knees up.
King gets the tag, and he smashes Dixon from behind. King with the Coronation for his team to win it.
WINNERS: Lexis King and Stacks
TIME: 3:35
THOUGHTS: No build up for the match, we just get a rough transition to it after the Monroe-Parker segment. The bigger story is Uriah Connors walking away from Chase and Dixon.
RATING: **1/4
Jacy Jayne and Fatal Influence are walking in the back. We will hear from them next!
COMMERCIALS!
We are robbed of Fatal Influence’s entrance as Vic babbles about stuff I don’t care about. Jacy wants to know if we know what it feels like to wait for something your whole life only for it to be taken out from underneath you at the very last second. She competed in her very first Royal Rumble, and it went exactly how she hoped it would. She was on fire, and she even through that sad ass Kelani Jordan out of the ring! The fans were chanting their name because, even halfway across the world, they know that she is the leader of a very deep division.
But then, Sol Ruca snuck up behind me and eliminated me. Of all the people, she isn’t surprised that it was Ruca. While she has been carrying this division on her back, who is the person everyone wants to talk about? There goes Sol, going viral for another one of her Sol Snatchers. Oh, she was a double champion, so was Jacy, and she did it better. But you know what, that’s fine. You can still my moment, it’s freaking fine. But she will be the one to shut everyone up and kill the hype.
Zaria is back, as she interrupts the champion. Did you think that you could stick your lapdogs on her? Sol has gotten plenty of chances, but Zaria is going to make her own. Don’t worry about Sol taking your title, because she will be the one to rip it out of your grubby little hands.
Jacy says there is a reason Sol gets the chances and you don’t. People love Ruca, they only tolerate you. She has proven herself, while you are just a hanger-on.
The NQCC girls are here! Kendal says that it took all three of you to defeat me at New Years Evil, so of course she wants to run it back! She used to ask herself if she was ready. But the only question in her mind isn’t if she can beat her and become the Women’s Champion, it will be if she pins her or taps her out.
Zaria says what makes you think you deserve this over me. Wren says that Kendal deserves it more than Zaria does. At least they don’t keep secrets from each other.
Speaking of, here comes Sol herself! She knows that Kendal wants to be champion. She knows she wants to be champion, too. Zaria interjects and says that she didn’t sneak off to the Royal Rumble. They argue, and Jayne says go to couples therapy, she only called out Sol.
Here is Robbie E Mr. Stone. He says he has an idea. Next week, ZaRuca will face NQCC, and whoever gets the pin for their team, in three weeks’ time, they will face Jacy for the Women’s Title!
In the back, Kelly looks to get a word with Kelani Jordan as she heads out. Kelly wants to know why she targets Lola Vice, and Jordan says that she had it coming. She won’t be able to do much of anything with a broken hand.
The Revolution is televised, and the main event is coming up next!
COMMERCIALS!
NQCC are in the back. Wren says this is what you wanted. With Sol and Zaria being Sol and Zaria, they have a great chance to win this match. Charlie says that is great for you, but what about him? The Legacy are here. King wants to know if Charlie thought about their offer. But before we get his answer, we cut away, and Vic gives us the matches for next week.
NXT Men’s World Title Ladder Match: Joe Hendry vs. Dion Lennox vs. Keanu Carver vs. Ricky Saints vs. Sean Legacy vs. Jackson Drake vs. Shiloh Hill
Booker T sounding like The Macho Man when he sings Joe’s theme song will never fail to crack me up.
Everyone fights everyone as the bell rings! Carver quickly starts salting the field to no one’s surprise. Lennox does work with Hill to neutralize Carver. They club him with a ladder to force him out of the ring. Saints is waiting in lieu, as he smacks them out of the ring with another ladder. Hendry attacks Saints, but Hill is back as well. Tornado DDT from Ricky to Hill. He grabs the arm of Legacy, does the top rope walk, and takes Sean out.
Ricky with the pose, but Hendry is back to attack. Hendry smacks everyone who moves with the ladder. He goes to set it up, but Drake is back to fight him off. Jackson climbs the ladder, but he can’t quite reach it. Hendry tilts the ladder to drop Jackson on the top rope. Hendry with a powerbomb to Drake onto the group at ring side. Not content with that, Hendry clears the top rope with a no hands cannonball to wipe out the field. That’ll take us to the break.
Guys take the time to climb the ladder during the break with no success. Hendry throws one of the ladders of the ring and picks up Carver as Drake tries to climb the ladder. Hendry drops Carver and takes Drake off of the ladder. Hendry and Carver fight it out, but Carver ends up shouldering the ring post to check how much metal really is in it.
Hendry and Lennox climb the ladder, but Drake is back to dump them from rungs. Drake goes to climb, but Saints is back to stop him. Drake takes him off the ladder, knocks it over, and does a pose. He runs into Legacy, who hits him with a Spanish Fly. Hill and Carver fight on the floor, here is Hendry, but Carver swats him away. Hill and Carver fight over a ladder, Carver breaks the ladder in half, and Shiloh is shocked lol.
In the ring, Legacy kicks a ladder into the face of Hendry. Legacy with an enziguri to Drake, Lennox tries to hit him with a ladder, but he hits Drake instead. Ladder assisted Sliced Bread to Lennox! Legacy and Drake climb the ladder, while Hendry and Saints fight on the floor. Hill enters the ring using the broken ladder as stilts! Okay, that’s clever.
Carver knows he already broke that ladder, so he does it again and catches Hill on his shoulders. Doomsday Device setup with Lennox as the fans chant THIS IS AWESOME. Lennox hits Saints with a spinebuster onto a ladder! Dion climbs, but Hendry cuts him off and hits a Standing Ovation! Hendry’s ascent is stopped by Drake, as he hits a gut buster to Legacy.
Drake to the top, Swanton to the back of Legacy! Drake makes the climb, but Saints is here to stop it. Carver is back, and he smacks Ricky one. Drake jumps from the ladder, Keanu catches him, but he reverses and sends Carver to the floor. Drake to the top and he wipes out everyone on the floor as we hit another break.
THIS IS AWESOME chants during the break, as Drake climbs the ladder. Carver smacks Legacy one and rips Drake off the ladder. Carver smashes Hill and Lennox into one another, but Lennox and Hill work together to throw Carver out of the ring. They reset the ladder under the title and proceed to slug it out. Hill and Lennox collide in the middle of the ring with lariats that cancel each other out.
Lennox is back to his feet; he beats up Hill and shoves the ladder over. Legacy is back as he resets the ladder and climbs. Hill is back to stop him, as Legacy rolls out to the floor. Hill follows him and they throw come hands. Everyone is on the floor, as Carver comes rolling through with a ladder as he wrecks shop. Like he needs it lol. Hill is waiting for him, though, as he hits a senton from the ring steps taking out Carver and the ladder.
The teeth have come out, and it’s time for serious business! Hill smashes Carver with the ladder, while everyone else turns the aisle into the hardware department at Lowe’s as they bury Carver in ladders. Everyone else hits the ring, as Hill does the airplane spin with the ladder around his head. He takes out everyone else, throws away THAT latter, and sets up ANOTHER ladder. He can’t climb, though, as Drake chucks a ladder into the arse of Hill.
Legacy is back, as he smacks Drake with a thrust kick. Drake falls onto the ladder, AND LEGACY WITH A SPRINGBOARD 450 SPLASH ONTO DRAKE AND THE LADDER! THIS IS AWESOME chants. Legacy goes to climb, but here comes Lennox. Sean tries to snap Dion’s arm over the top of the ladder, but Hill is back and he sets up another ladder. A third ladder is setup, and all six guys are climbing! Everyone calls except for Lennox! He tries to reach for the belt, but Hendry is back to rip him off the ladder. WE BELIEVE chants as Joe throws Dion into one of the ladders.
Dion tries to fight back, but Hendry slams him into the ring post. CARVER RISES FROM THE ASHES LIKE THE TERMINATOR! He takes out Hendry, Drake, and SPEARS Legacy through the wall at ringside! Saints looks like he just shit himself lol. Carver leaps up onto the apron and gets into the ring. Ricky tries to climb, but Carver slows him down. They tussle for a bit, but Saints is able to kick Keanu’s ladder over, AND CARVER SMASHES INTO THE LADDER SET UP BETWEEN THE RING AND THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!
Ricky takes his time to pose, but Hendry is back, and we didn’t even say his name! Hendry and Saints both get their hands on the title! Ricky appears to come off his ladder as he is hanging on to the title for dear life. Hendry kicks Saints off the title and onto a ladder, and he claims the title for his own!
WINNER: Joe Hendry (NEW CHAMPION!)
TIME: 22:35
THOUGHTS: This match, man, this fucking match! Everyone, literally, got their time to shine, but in the end, Hendry overcame an attack last week to win the NXT Men’s World Title. So much carnage, so much chaos, and so much fun!
RATING: ****3/4
Post-match, Hendry poses with his title on top of the ladder, Booker T continues his Macho Man voice singing Joe’s theme song, and Vic loses his damn mind! And with that, we are done!
