Jon Moxley Sends Message To Shelton Benjamin Ahead Of Bout On 1/7 AEW Dynamite

Newly crowned AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley has sent a message to Shelton Benjamin ahead of their scheduled bout this Wednesday on Dynamite.

Moxley defeated Kazuchika Okada in the final of the Continental Classic at AEW Worlds End 2025 to capture the prized gold. This past Wednesday, he defeated Josh Alexander in a Continental Championship Eliminator bout via submission. Immediately after the match, Shelton Benjamin came out alongside MVP, seemingly setting his sights on the Continental Championship.

Later, Tony Khan revealed on X that the two will lock horns in a Continental Title Eliminator this coming Wednesday on Dynamite. On tonight’s AEW Collision, Jon Moxley sent a message to the Hurt Syndicate member.

He said:

“What do you get when you take a dozen of the most capable, the most durable, hungriest pro wrestlers on the planet, strip them of everything but their will, stick them in a blender for a month, and call it the Continental Classic? Who do you think comes out of that? Maybe not anyone you expected, but maybe you should have. What comes out of that? Something unique like nothing else in professional wrestling, not whatever this is made of. Like pressure creates diamonds, the alchemy of blood and sweat and pain and tears and broken bones and concussions and disappointments, the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat, and going to insane places in your mind because you wanna win so bad. This is like nothing else in professional wrestling. This is something with a barrier to entry; this is something with a very high price tag.

“When I step into the ring with Shelton Benjamin on Wednesday, he will be very high on the list of straight-up baddest dudes I’ve ever been in the ring with. He can and should and will throw me around like a ragdoll. There’s really nothing that I do better than Shelton Benjamin, and I have all the respect in the world for those guys; they are the real thing. They pay their dues in full, so I’m going to drop any pretense. But on Wednesday, Shelton Benjamin, I think of the price tag. You gonna have to do a whole lot more to hurt me.”
