Liv Morgan Defeats Stephanie Vaquer to Become Women’s World Champion at WrestleMania 42 Saturday

Liv Morgan did what she promised, heading into WrestleMania 42 Saturday, as she defeated Stephanie Vaquer to capture the WWE Women’s World Championship.

Given how deeply personal this rivalry has been during the entire build, both women hit the ground running right from the outset, as she launched an attack on Morgan.

Stephanie hit the Devil’s Kiss and even Liv’s signature move, Oblivion, to secure a victory, but Morgan refused to give up. Despite the near falls, Stephanie continued to dominate Morgan until Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez entered the picture.

Stephanie had Liv where she wanted as she climbed the top turnbuckle for the Corkscrew Moonsault. However, Roxanne came up on the apron on the other side of the ring to distract the match official as Raquel shoved La Primera into the ropes. Morgan followed it with Oblivion, but Vaquer kicked out.

Stephanie continued to fend off Raquel and Perez and then moved out of the way as Liv attempted a dive on the outside. Vaquer followed it up with a Springboard Crossbody, but Liv managed to escape. Morgan then drove Vaquer into the steel steps and followed it up with a Codebreaker and an Oblivion to secure a pinfall victory and the Women’s World Championship.

Immediately after her victory, Dominik Mysterio entered the ring, and Liv celebrated her crowing moment with him, Raquel, and Roxanne as pyro went off in the back.

Stephanie Vaquer’s reign ends at 211 days. She won the then-vacant title by defeating IYO SKY at Wrestlepalooza last September.
