As previously reported, former AEW wrestler and ROH Women’s World Champion Mercedes Martinez underwent surgery to repair her torn ACL earlier this week. Martinez shared an update and video on her recovery yesterday, thanking fans for their support and donating to her GoFundMe campaign to aid in her recovery.

Martinez revealed that the donations to her GoFundMe covered her surgery in full. She wrote in the caption, “SURGERY UPDATE! ACL fully repaired, small MCL tear fixed, & arthritis found. Today we remove the bandages, clean up, & start at-home rehab! THANK YOU! GoFundMe covered surgery in full! Forever grateful. Recovery time.”

Mercedes Martinez also noted in the video that she was working on getting the dressing removed yesterday and starting her physical rehabilitation. The wrestler previously parted ways with AEW after her contract expired earlier this year. She last appeared on ROH TV in May 2024.
