Mercedes Mone Returns On AEW Dynamite, Advances In Owen Hart Tournament

Mercedes Mone has returned to AEW TV, making her return on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite in the women’s Owen Hart Tournament. Wednesday night’s show featured Alex Windsor competing in the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Her opponent was a wild card, who turned out to be the returning CEO.

Mone and Windsor battled back and forth for 12 and a half minutes, with both competitors throwing everything they had at each other. In the end, Mone was able to pick up the win by hitting a Backstabber, then locking in the Statement Maker and forcing Windsor to tap. You can see clips from the AEW Dynamite match below.

Mercedes Mone has been off of AEW TV since she appeared in a vignette on the January 10th episode of AEW Collision, announcing that she would be “taking a break” after she lost the TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale.

By virtue of her win, Mone will face the winner of a first-round match between Persephone and Hazuki in the semifinals.
