Mickie James Reflects On Nick Aldis’ WWE In-Ring Debut, More Potential Opponents

Mickie James was proud to see her husband Nick Aldis compete at WWE SummerSlam, and she would like to see him face some other WWE stars. Aldis worked his first WWE match at SummerSlam, facing Gunther. Gunther picked up the win, but it was Aldis who got to have his moment in the ring with James and their son.

James spoke with MuscleMan Malcom for a new interview and spoke about Aldis making his debut and more. You can see highlights below:

On Aldis Competing At SummerSlam:

“Oh my gosh, it was amazing. It’s the dream come true. I always think it’s — all the things. Obviously it didn’t go the way we wanted, but to see him have his moment, and have Donovan like — we’ve never sat in the crowd like that for a whole match. And just, I don’t even think Donovan sat and watched like my whole match in the crowd when I was there. But to see him, and he was so like, in the front row, over the banner like the whole time watching his dad and cheering his dad on.

“And even the journey to get here, as Nick’s been going to the gym and stuff. Donovan’s been real, like he’s been a little film guy, documenting the whole thing. So he’s been really a part of this whole journey with Donovan. It’s just been this cool bond to see. So then to see it and be there for it, it’s really special. And I know he worked really hard for it, and he deserved it. And it just proved that he belongs.”

On Who She’d Like to See Aldis Face:

“Oh my gosh. You know, I thought that he was going to wrestle Randy [Orton] for a long time. I would love to see that, you know? God, there’s so many. think that they could run back the [feud between] him and Cody Rhodes, with all the story there… so there’s that, and then there’s obviously the history with him and Drew.

“And I think there’s been so much because Nick is young, you know? But he’s been around for a long time. He worked really hard, and it’s funny how sometimes when you just give up, I guess, something as a possibility. Of like ‘We’ve just kind of accepted maybe it just isn’t meant to be.’ And then something like this happens, and it’s magical and it’s meant to be. And it’s beautiful and it couldn’t gone better, and I think he got to show who he really was and why he was the real World’s Champion.”
